Tahoma type are structured following the order found in The Great Horologion, published by Holy Transfiguration Monastery in Boston Р however, with the above mentioned exception, the translation used is also based on that found in the Jordanville Prayer Book and Horologion, by Fr. Lawrence.К The Jordanville texts, and the Old Rite Typikon.

Compline - bedtime or after-supper prayer - is basically a private office. There are two versions of compline - great and small compline. Great compline is a church service commemorating such occasions as the Eve of the Nativity of Christ or providing a structure to pray the Great Canon of St. Andrew of Crete during Lent. Small compline is the private, bedtime prayer office. I purchased this booklet because the Prayer Book doesn't have Small Compline, and I try to offer this service every evening at home. The directions for variations to the order and prayers depending on the day/liturgical season could be clearer, and it is written for use in a corporate prayer setting in the monastery, but that is my only 4/5(1).

Hover over the Compline image below for a playlist of past Complines. Use your own Book of Common Prayer (BCP) or click the link below to follow along with the service. If you have any intercessions or concerns to add, please use the link below to contact Fr. Jeff.   This Order for Compline may be used throughout Holy Week at your own own time at close of day. Lighten our darkness, we beseech thee, O Lord; and by thy great mercy defend us from all perils and dangers of this.
